The XXI Olympic Winter Games are taking place in Vancouver, Canada, from the 12th to the 28th Of February 2010.
The sports that will be contested include:
Speed Skating, snowboarding, ski jumping, skeleton, short track skating, Nordic combined, luge, Ice hockey, freestyle skiing, figure skating, curling, cross-country, bobsleigh, biathlon, alpine skiing.
The next 2014 Olympic Winter Games will be in Sochi in 2014. This will be the first time that the Russian Federation will host the Winter Games. The Soviet Union did however host the 1980 Summer Games in Moscow. The host city Sochi has a population around 400,000 people and is situated in Russia's third largest region Krasnodar.
